HOME WORK

HomeWork Policy

The purposes of homework at Bright Future Private School include: developing responsible study skills and work habits, practicing a skill or process that learners can do independently but not fluently, previewing or preparing for new content, and reflecting or elaborating on information learned in class to deepen learners’ knowledge. Homework time is scheduled during the After School Program in addition to other activities.
During this time staff members are available to answer homework questions and provide help. [Boarder learners only]. The homework area will be kept silent to help the learner’s concentration. You and your child should review their homework at home.

Homework is assigned at Bright Future Private School as follows:

Pre–School Phase

Assign homework on Wednesday and Friday. Teachers encourage parents to read with their children on a nightly basis as well as review assignments and provide immediate feedback.

Junior Phase and Upper phase

Provide a combination of nightly homework i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and/or long-term projects. Learners record assignments daily, and or teachers post assignments on their websites. Learners are encouraged to read nightly, and parents are encouraged to spot-check learner’s work.
The staff at Bright Future Private School believes that a successful homework policy includes the teacher, learner, parent triad of learning.
